There are at least two main challenges that confront traditional biblical education in our time. First, there is growing fragmentation in studying God’s Word, namely due to new technologies. To be sure, there are legitimate and beneficial exceptions for cyber education. But Jesus Bible Institute seeks to reclaim the classical pedagogical model of the classroom setting of face-to-face, flesh-and-blood, teacher-student experience. This promotes physical, intellectual, and spiritual interaction among believers in their own community—fellowship that our technologies cannot replicate.
Second, today there are different factors that impede biblical literacy. Jesus Bible Institute is seeking to reclaim biblical literacy in the Church. We are not trying to replace biblical education at the local church, but to enrich it.
I believe with God’s grace these two challenges can be overcome. Ultimately, our goal is to see God’s people know and love Jesus Christ deeper through his Word.
